Secretary’s Report:

Correspondence & Funding Requests:
a) Thank you letter from Child Guidance Clinic for present for our adopted family
b) DG Lyn Meyers will be visiting our club on April 2, 2012

Officer/ Committee Reports

1st VP Report- Ellen
a) Strides: committee is getting together soon
b) Relay For Life:

d) Canned Goods Collection: will be collected at every meeting
e) Restaurant Fundraiser: Marie reported- Chili’s on Feb 28th from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.- give out as many flyers as you can. May get together on Feb 26 & 27 to give out flyers in front of Walmart or Shop-Rite. Will also e-mail flyers and coupons to the members.

i) Eyeglass Collections: still collecting eye-glasses. Boxes at following locations: Naugatuck Savings Bank, IBEW Local 457, AOH, City Hall, Bristol Meyers Squibb, 3M Purification

l) Arbor Day Tree Planting:
m) Touch-A-Truck: Sarah reported- June 2nd at the HUB downtown Meriden from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Will need volunteers to help during the event. If you have any trucks or contacts let Sarah, Mike or Alicia know so we don’t have too many duplicates. Will e-mail flyer to members asap.

2nd VP Report- Melanie
a) Pasta Dinner: Sam reported- June 16th from 5-7:30 pm possibly at Holy Angels. Some discussion about using caterer or cooking. Need club members to sell many tickets- more tickets = more money. Committee to discuss details.
b) Craft Fair: Sam reported- May 12th possibly at QRWA- outdoor fair from 10 am to 3 pm with food, face painting, raffles, tea cup raffle, cookie walk. Need members to volunteer to help.

h) Entertainment/ Special Programs: February 20th Keith Beaver from CRIS radio will be speaking to the Club. Any ideas on speakers please let Melanie know.

3rd VP Report- Marie
a) Parade Committee: Daffodil Fest parade April 28th. Ellen reported that if there is not enough interest we will not participate this year.

c) Wine Tasting: April 13th at Curtis Cultural Center- committee meeting soon to decide final details.
d) Public Relations: Marie is putting a collage together of past SM Lions activities for the Record- Journal

Old Business
Debbie S. and Ellen talked about the Mid-Winter conference. Friday night was a fun time. Ellen presented our Club’s donations at the parade of checks during the luncheon on Saturday. Cathy won the lottery tree so that’s back in the Club’s possession.
Sarah said everyone had a good time at the January social meeting recipe tasting and made a recipe book for everyone.
